Description:    Because this layout is enjoyed by grandkids, I've tried to make it as interactive as possible. Two cranes can load/unload cars remotely, using a solenoid to attach to loads. A water tower fills tank cars etc.. It's 61' long and between 3' 3" and 5' wide. I used old fashioned isolated sections, linked to signals and to lights on the two panels, so kids can see what's live and which train's going to move! Remote sidings have electric uncouplers and all switches/points are controlled from the panels. There's a control box at each end but the main one can run everything using video cameras. The video includes the grandkids as their participation and involvement has been an important part of this project. I started it in 2005, just after the first grandchild was born. The video includes a commentary describing features of the layout and is filmed in HD1080. If anyone has any questions or wants to know how something was made, just ask!
