All-plastic USA Trains refrigerator car decorated for the 20th anniversary of the East Coast Large Scale Train Show; 1:24 scale; gauge 1; opening doors and hatches; grab irons and stirrup steps supplied separately

Pros: Well-made car; good graphics and paint
Cons: None
The East Coast Large Scale Train Show turned 20 in 2014 and this USA Trains reefer was produced to commemorate the event. The car is the standard USA Trains refrigerator car. Stirrup steps and grab irons are supplied in separate packages and must be applied by the purchaser. Doors and roof hatches are openable.

This special car has a gray roof, black ends, and powder-blue sides. Commemorative printing is in black, white, and red. The paint and graphics are excellent, with even the tiniest type being quite readable. Trucks have plastic deep-flange wheels with integral hook-and-loop couplers. A pair of knuckle couplers is also included.

There is some underbody detail present and the truss rods are metal. If you are a collector of commemorative cars or an attendee of the East Coast Show, this car will be of interest to you. —M. Horovitz
